Cleaning Line Reduces Customer Production Costs by Two-Thirds
An international motor manufacturer needed to reduce the cost of cleaning and coating parts. The process involves washing, rinsing, coating, sealing with a proprietary formula and drying. The parts were being sent out to a contract cleaner. The cost of contract cleaning, over time, was higher than bringing cleaning in-house.
The system Magnus designed includes ten stages that require eight immersion tanks and one dryer with two stages. Two ten-foot conveyors are attached for entrance and exit. To further reduce costs and increase our customers return on their investment, they were able to utilize six refurbished immersion tanks and a refurbished dryer. The tanks are the Miji Lif 24 1.5X and the Aja Lif 36. The dryer is the 2X Tunnel Dryer. Features include a mixer for coating stages, liquid level sensors, roller platforms, automatic lids, auto cycle timers and gravity counter flow.
The result of this custom design is a reduction in production costs of over 67% in addition to improving the customer’s turn-around time and ensures that each step in the proprietary process can be regulated in-house.
